Bacon-Wrapped Scallop Bites

Tender sea scallops wrapped in savoury bacon make the perfect appetiser for a summer party or a special treat for yourself and your loved ones.

What do I need?

  • 12 slices streaky bacon
  • 24 large scallops
  • 1 dash MasterFoods Garlic Pepper seasoning

How do I make it?

  1. Fry the bacon in batches in a hot frying pan until partially cooked, ensuring it’s still flexible but not crisp. Set aside.
  2. Rinse the scallops under cold running water and pat them dry with paper towels. Remove any tough muscle on the side of the scallops by pinching it off with your fingers.
  3. Cut each bacon slice crosswise in half, then wrap each half around a scallop and secure it with a toothpick.
  4. Preheat the grill.
  5. Sprinkle the scallops lightly with pepper seasoning.
  6. Place the scallops 10 to 13 centimetres from the heat source. Grill for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the scallops turn opaque throughout, using tongs to turn the scallops once or twice during cooking to ensure the bacon browns evenly on all sides.
