Devilled eggs offer a nostalgic taste that transports you back in time with every bite. These retro-inspired delights are a true blast from the past.
What do I need?
- 12 hard-boiled eggs
- 1/3 cup of mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp of freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tsp of Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp of garlic powder
- Salt and freshly cracked black pepper
- Smoked paprika for garnish
- Chopped fresh coriander for garnish
How do I make it?
- Begin by slicing the hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise.
- Carefully scoop out the egg yolks and transfer them to a small mixing bowl. Mash the egg yolks completely with a fork until they form a fine powder.
- Add the mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and a generous pinch of salt and pepper to the bowl. Stir until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Taste the mixture and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if necessary. If the mixture appears too thick, add more mayonnaise or a small splash of water.
- Using a spoon, small cookie scoop, or piping bag, fill the cavities of the egg whites with the yolk mixture.
- Garnish each devilled egg with a sprinkle of paprika and chopped coriander.
