Cook Time icon 20 min

This stir-fried bok choy recipe is quick, easy, and a great way to pack in some leafy greens. You can enjoy it as is, or add meat or tofu to make it more filling. Serve it with fluffy white rice or over noodles in soup. While the raw bok choy may seem like a lot, it cooks down significantly.

What do I need?

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed and finely chopped
  • 8 heads bok choy, trimmed and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

How do I make it?

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant, stirring frequently to avoid burning.
  2. Add the bok choy to the pan. Stir-fry for 5–8 minutes, or until the leafy greens turn bright green and the stalks become slightly translucent.
  3. Season with salt to taste and serve immediately.
  4. Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.

Tips:

•For a richer flavour, add a splash of soy sauce or oyster sauce before serving.

•This dish pairs well with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
