Dalgona Coffee

This creamy, whipped coffee is sweet, strong, and seriously satisfying. Perfect for those warm Queensland mornings when you still need your caffeine fix but want it ice-cold.

What do I need?

  • 2 tbsp instant coffee
  • 2 tbsp white sugar
  • 2 tbsp hot water
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • Ice cubes

How do I make it?

  1. In a small bowl, combine the instant coffee, sugar, and hot water. Whip the mixture using a hand whisk, electric mixer, or milk frother until it’s thick, creamy, and holds stiff peaks – about 2–5 minutes.
  2. Fill two glasses with ice cubes and pour in the milk, leaving a little room on top.
  3. Spoon the whipped coffee mixture over the milk, dividing it between the two glasses.
  4. Sprinkle with a little cocoa powder, crushed coffee granules, or chocolate shavings if you’re in the mood for something a bit extra.
  5. Give it a gentle stir before sipping, or enjoy as-is for that classic two-tone café look.
